MEET Hollywood’s new David and Goliath.
Twilight heartthrob Taylor Lautner, who’s 5ft 10ins, and former wrestling star Dwayne Johnson, at 6ft 5ins, have been offered the title roles in Relativity Media’s new film Goliath.
It’s based on the Bible tale in which a young shepherd – and future king of Israel – topples a giant Philistine warrior with a sling and then beheads him.
Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Day The Earth Stood Still) is directing the feature, which is described by The Hollywood Reporter as “a period action movie with contemporary sensibilities.”
Taylor, best known as werewolf Jacob Black in the Twilight Saga, is lining up new roles including a forthcoming lead in Abduction alongside Jason Isaacs.
Johnson, seen earlier this year in record-breaking action flick Fast & Furious 5, is currently shooting G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation, in which he plays Roadblock. He is also in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and The Expendables 2.
