At this point, it seems like it will take the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, and all of the other abilities that power Captain Marvel to make a movie about the “Shazam!”-shouting superhero actually happen.
MTV News sat down for a chat with wrestler/actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson about the “Captain Marvel” movie and his long-rumored attachment to the role of Captain Marvel’s nemesis, Black Adam, as well as those pesky rumors about him being up for the lead in Zack Snyder’s “Superman” reboot.
“I love Zack [Snyder], [and] we talked about working together,” he told MTV News. “But no, I never got a call for [the 'Superman' reboot].”
As for “Captain Marvel,” Johnson said he’s still holding out hope for the film to get made — even if its current status isn’t very promising.
“I haven’t let it go. I love that idea,” he said. “I’ve always loved the idea of playing Black Adam.”
“In Hollywood, a lot of times when something is in development, it just takes a lot of time,” he said of the delays. “So it’s in development hell right now. Who knows what’s going to happen with that. Maybe, maybe not — I’m always here.”
