The first one sheet poster for Fast Five confidently used negative space and color to sell the primary ingredients of The Fast and The Furious franchise: fast cars first, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker second. A new poster, which debuted on the movie’s facebook page (via Cinemablend), retains the negative space, but replaced zippy cars and pretty colors with the entire cast awkwardly photoshopped together around some cars. Some cars that aren’t even driving, which is neither fast, nor furious. Take a look.
Fast Five is directed by Justin Lin, who helmed the last two installments of the franchise, Tokyo Drift and Fast and Furious. Most importantly, he directed the action parody paintball episode of NBC’s unimpeachable Community in the show’s first season. Fast Five takes the action to Rio De Janeiro and adds Dwayne Johnson as a relentless federal agent pursuing Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. Also living their lives a quarter mile at a time are Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Matt Schulze, Ludacris, Gal Godot, and Sung Kang, all of whom have appeared in previous iterations of the franchise.
