WILL THE ROCK FINALLY COME BACK TO THE WWE?

By Mike Johnson on 2010-05-21 20:36:57

Actor Ashton Kutcher will be hosting the 5/31 Raw in Austin, Texas.

The 6/7 edition of Raw in Miami, Florida will not be hosted by Dwayne Johnson. I reported several months back the company was trying to work out a Johnson return for that Raw, which will be the company’s next three hour edition.

Instead, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will become the first former UFC champion to host Raw on 6/7. Jackson will be appearing to promote the A-Team feature, hosting alongside Bradley Cooper (also of Hangover Fame) and Sharlto Copley (the lead from last year’s awesome science fiction film District 9). They are playing BA Barakas, Face and Howling Mad Murdock, respectively, in the film adaption of the classic NBC action series. I was told we’ll likely see the A-Team van pop up on the show as well.

The 6/14 Raw in Charlotte, NC will be hosted by Mark Feuerstein, the lead star of USA Network’s Royal Pains. Feurstein will also be featured as a lead in the forthcoming WWE Studios film “Knucklehead” with Big Show. Show is filming an episode of Royal Pains this week that will air on 6/17, just a few days after Raw, so it makes sense we’ll likely see Show pop up in Charlotte as well.

The Rock to Host 3 Hour Raw in Miami this June

According to sources within WWE, on the June 7th, 2010, 3 hour edition of Monday Night Raw, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is scheduled to be the special guest host of the program. Johnson has said for quite some time now that he would be thrilled to come back to the wrestling business, for one night only, and do something special. I’ve been told that Rock doesn’t just want to do the typical “guest host” spot and go above and beyond. As far as I know, it is very likely that he will indeed NOT be in an in-ring wrestling role, but hey… stranger things have happened.

There is also no word as to whether or not he will be the final special guest host, but I suppose it would make sense considering the fact that he’s the last super huge star to not be on live TV in 6 years, including the Anniversary/Homecoming special shows and because it would be almost one full year since Trump purchased Raw and started the guest host thing.
