The Rock is still muscley because he listens to his body when it “talks” to him.
The 38-year-old wrestler-turned-actor, whose real name is Dwayne Johnson, is famous for his hulking frame and large muscles. To keep his body looking buff, The Rock spends hours in the gym every day lifting extremely heavy weights.
When he was younger, he found his gruelling workouts easy, but he is finding it harder and harder to keep in shape as he approaches 40. To combat this, he has to “listen” to his body, and come up with new exercises to suit it.
“I think I train smarter now, where before when I was younger I would just throw around all kinds of weight and see how heavy we could go,” the star told mirror.co.uk.
“A lot of it is based on ego when you come from the world of athletics and sports, but as you get older you just start to really listen to your body.
“And whether you are involved in athletics or not, I think it’s important for all of us to listen to our body. The body is an incredible machine and it will talk to you.”
The Rock can currently be seen in The Tooth Fairy, a children’s comedy which also stars Dame Julie Andrews.
