The IDW comic series is being brought to the big screen…
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros has picked up the rights to the IDW comic book series Lore, and Dwayne Johnson will be in the starring role.
Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott will provide the screenplay. The 2004 series was written and illustrated by husband and wife team Ashley Wood and T.P. Louise.
The series is about a secret society of Shepherds, who have been keeping the world safe from mythical creatures for generations. When the line of succession is broken, a reluctant hero finds her life threatened as the creatures return.

It seems it’s full steam ahead for the John Chu directed G.I. Joe sequel as news reaches us that not only is the film pinching the June 29th 2012 release date left open by J.J. Abrams not-yet-in-production Star Trek 2, but it has also undergone a title change – from the obvious-sounding G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes to the more badass G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which I’m hoping means Cobra are going to go on the offensive following their almost-epic destruction at the hands of the joes in Rise of Cobra… If so here’s hoping for a third film where the joes fight back and win!
G.I. Joe: Retaliation is also, according to Deadline, receiving yet another cast member to join the ever-increasing ranks of joes in the film. This time it’s actor Joseph Mazello who has been announced as joining the film. Mazello, who is most famous for his role in Jurassic Park and was more recently seen in The Pacific (pictured above), will play the character of Mouse.
He joins the returning Channing Tatum
as Duke, Ray Park as Snake Eyes and Byung Hun-lee as Storm Shadow. Along with franchise newcomers Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Roadblock, Elodie Yung as Jinx, DJ Cotrona as Flint, Adrianne Palicki as Lady Jaye, RZA as The Blind Master, Ray Stevenson as Firefly…

I was surfing the net and found these awesome photos of Dwayne Johnson and Miley Cyrus @ KCA Awards 2009. lol…got to love a man with a sense of humor.
It’s official, what “The Rock” is cooking next summer will be the next installment of blockbuster movie series G.I. Joe. Reliable sources tell us that it’s a done deal.
After a slew of comedic performances, Dwayne Johnson is returning to his bread and butter, action films. It makes sense; his last film Faster and Fast Five was a box office smash hit.
Johnson will play Roadblock, a big, bad-ass soldier in the G.I. Joe canon. Jon Chu (Justin Bieber: Never Say Never) is set to direct the 3D action adventure currently titled G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes.
Channing Tatum is the only star from the original that has officially signed so far. The other original cast members Ray Park and Lee Byung-hun are expected to return to the roles of Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, respectively.
