Universal Pictures has moved the released date up a week for Fast Furious 7. The movie was supposed to be released on April 10th, but will now hit theaters on April 3rd, 2015. James Wan is directing the next highly anticipated installment of the awesome fanchise, and is stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewsetr, Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Kurt Russell and more. I’m surprised they’ve managed to keep the plot off this film under wraps for so long. We still have no real idea what it will entail, but I know it’s going to be a lot of fun!

‘Fast & Furious 7’ to Resume Production in April

fast-furious-7-650x458

After the tragic, horribly ironic death of Paul Walker in a car crash in November of last year, the fate of Universal’s “Fast and Furious” franchise, which has become one of the studio’s most dependable and profitable properties, was very much up in the air.

At the time of Walker’s death, the movie was only halfway done with filming, and had a summer 2014 release date looming. Universal decided to finish the movie with director James Wan and the original cast, and shifted the release date from summer 2014 to April 10, 2015. Now The Hollywood Reporter says that the production will resume shooting this April. The wheels have started spinning again.

The sequel, which follows last year’s tremendous “Furious 6,” includes original cast members Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel, Ludacris, and Michelle Rodriguez, plus new cast members like Jason Statham, Kurt Russell (!), Tony Jaa, and Djimon Hounsou. Most interestingly is the fact that Lucas Black, who starred in the “Fast and Furious” one-off “Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift,” will be reintegrated into the franchise. (I love how labyrinthine the “Fast and Furious” “mythology” has become.) Plans are still for the movie to “retire” Walker’s character instead of kill him. It’s very clear that Wan and writer Chris Morgan have been working since Walker’s death on just how to sort this all out and have it make any sense in the context of the movie.

It’s unclear what other plot deviations are in store. When the movie resumes production, it will be in Atlanta (there was some time scheduled for Dubai and other exotic locations). Hopefully, Wan will be able to bring his muscle car vision to the big screen with appropriate weight and sensitivity, given the situation. Either way: can’t wait. Glad that the production is back on track and we can look forward to a new installment in the franchise in a little over a year. Vroom on!

Universal Pictures has released four new TV spots for Fast Five, starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Matt Schulze, Tego Calderon, Don Omar, Elsa Pataky, Joaquim de Almeida and Dwayne Johnson. The Justin Lin directed movie looks like it’s going to be a ridiculously good time.

Here’s the synopsis for the film:

“Since Brian O’Conner and Mia Toretto broke Dom Toretto out of custody, they’ve blown across many borders to elude authorities. Now backed into a corner in Rio de Janeiro, they must pull one last job in order to gain their freedom. As they assemble their elite team of top racers, the unlikely allies know their only shot of getting out for good means confronting the corrupt businessman who wants them dead. But he’s not the only one on their tail. Hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs never misses his target. When he is assigned to track down Dom and Brian, he and his strike team launch an all-out assault to capture them. But as his men tear through Brazil, Hobbs learns he can’t separate the good guys from the bad. Now, he must rely on his instincts to corner his prey… before someone else runs them down first.

The routine of the residents in the neighborhood of Rio Piedras Good Counsel has been disrupted with the arrival in the neighborhood of dozens of people from the crew of the film “Fast Five ” , which is filmed for weeks on the island

The filming was interrupted several times by rain. The humidity and heat dominate the set, on a day crucial to the plot as it is when shooting at the time that the group of Domenic Toretto (Vin Diesel) is cornered by U.S. authorities , under the command of Detective Johnson ( Dwayne Johnson , “The Rock “).

The neighbors have been alerted that between sequences will be filming an explosion of a car , so they have been asked for their safety , keep away from the work area .

The story of the fifth installment of the series “The Fast and the Furious “takes place in Brazil, which is being recreated in different parts of Puerto Rico , where he shoots from mid-July.
