Universal Pictures has moved the released date up a week for Fast Furious 7. The movie was supposed to be released on April 10th, but will now hit theaters on April 3rd, 2015. James Wan is directing the next highly anticipated installment of the awesome fanchise, and is stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewsetr, Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Kurt Russell and more. I’m surprised they’ve managed to keep the plot off this film under wraps for so long. We still have no real idea what it will entail, but I know it’s going to be a lot of fun!

Fast & Furious 7 Will Retire Instead of Kill Off Paul Walker’s Character

Universal has made the decision to retire, as opposed to killing off, Paul Walker‘s Brian O’Conner character in Fast & Furious 7 after the actor passed away in November of last year. Director James Wan and writer Chris Morgan have tweaked the screenplay so that the franchise can continue.

The studio plans to use the footage that Paul Walker already shot prior to his death in a car accident during Thanksgiving weekend. Since the accident, talks of how to move forward have continued, with a resolution finally decided upon.

Dwayne Johnson talks G.I. Joe 3

Wednesday, 17 April 2013

Dwayne Johnson is certainly starting to develop a knack for reinvigorating franchises; three of his last four movies have seen him joining the cast at the sequel stage, with Fast Five, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and G.I. Joe: Retaliation all raking in the cash at the box office. We already know he’s set to return to the Fast & Furious franchise for this year’s Fast & Furious 6 (as well as next year’s Fast & Furious 7, which has just been officially announced by Vin Diesel today), and now it seems he’s set to return to the role of Roadblock for G.I. Joe 3, which has already been given the green light by Paramount Pictures.

“What we would love to do with the sequel to G.I. Joe, which will definitely happen—we set ourselves up nicely with this past G.I. Joe because we really paid attention with respected homage to the mythology,” said Johnson in an interview with Collider. “And now that we’ve redesigned that foundation of the mythology, there are many places to go. There are phenomenal G.I. Joe characters who we can bring to life, we’re all talking about it now, and certainly [thinking about] using the 3D platform in even better ways for the next one, so, I’m very excited about that.”

Despite his Wrestlemania loss to John Cena earlier this month, The Rock is certainly on a roll at the moment, which looks to continue this year with the release of the aforementioned Fast & Furious 6, as well as Michael Bay’s bodybuilding crime-caper Pain & Gain and the heist drama Empire State.

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker head up an all-star reunion of the explosive Fast franchise set in sultry Rio de Janeiro. Former cop Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker, Fast & Furious, Takers) and his girlfriend Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster, Fast & Furious, “Dallas”) bust Mia’s brother Dom (Vin Diesel, Fast & Furious, The Chronicles of Riddick) out of prison, blasting across South America to elude the authorities. Finding themselves backed into a corner in Brazil, they assemble an elite team of top racers to help pull off the one last job that could mean freedom for them all. But hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson, Faster, The Other Guys) is hot on their trail, and so is a corrupt and powerful businessman who wants them dead. When Hobbs and his strike force launch an all-out assault to capture the Torettos and their team, he can’t separate the good guys from the bad. Instead, he must rely on his instincts to corner his prey – before someone else runs them down first.
