Furious 7 Continues To Dominate At The Box Office!!

Furious 7 is unstoppable!! For the third weekend in a row, the action film took the top spot at the box office, taking in $29M!! Overall, the latest installment in the Fast & Furious franchise has grossed $1.153B, including what it’s made overseas. According to Deadline.con:

“Universal is smiling today as, by all expectations this morning, its franchise film Furious 7 should end the weekend with right around $29M for a cume a of $294.4M. This is the first picture to make $1B picture in its first run in the studio’s 103-year history and passed that milestone on Friday in only 17 days, the fastest ever.”

Welp, that pretty much guarantees there will be a Furious 8, and probably 9 and 10!! Furious 7 stars the late Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham, and others.

Paul Walker’s Brothers Helping Finish Fast & Furious 7

Back in March a rumor circulated that the production of Fast & Furious 7would use body doubles and facial replacement to fill in gaps in the action due to the unfortunate death of star Paul Walker. This wasn’t really all that newsworthy given facial replacement is used a lot in Hollywood, but today Universal has officially confirmed the news while adding information that it’s Walker’s brothers, Caleb and Cody Walker, that have joined the production to help out.

Here’s the official statement from the studio’s Facebook page:

“The FAST & FURIOUS saga is about family. The characters are connected by the bond of family, and it is how all of us who have worked together for more than thirteen years feel about each other. It certainly defines how we feel about our fans.

Our family experienced an unthinkable shock in November. We had to take time to grieve Paul, the brother we love and lost, and to figure out if we should move on with our film.

We came together and all felt the only choice was to continue. We believe our fans want that, and we believe Paul would want that too. Paul had already shot his dramatic scenes and most of his action for FAST & FURIOUS 7, and it’s among the strongest work of his career.

We have resumed shooting and now welcome Paul’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, into our FAST family. Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother and fill in small gaps left in production. Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too.

We are just under a year away from the release of FAST & FURIOUS 7, and this film is the most important we’ve ever done together. It will allow the character of Brian O’Conner to live on and let us celebrate Paul in his most defining role.

We wanted to take a moment to speak to our fans directly and thank you for the love and support you always show us as we resume our work.”

Cody Walker, a stuntman, was first mentioned as possibly getting involved back in December 2013 and for comparison’s sake you can see a picture of the three brothers here.

Fast & Furious 7 is set to hit theaters on April 10, 2015, directed byJames Wan and starring Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson,Tyrese Gibson, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Sung Kang, Kurt Russell, Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Ronda Rousey andLucas Black.

Fast and Furious 6 DVD: Release Date and Bonus Features Revealed!

After taking in over $800 million in the worldwide box office, Fast and Furious 6 is making plans to come home. Universal announced that Fast and Furious 6 will land on DVD and Blu-Ray December 10.

This time out, as teased in the Fast and Furious 6 trailer, Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel join forces and the gang heads to London. Johnson promises Diesel that if he and his gang of street racers — including Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges — help him bring down an international criminal mastermind, he will guarantee their full pardons for everything they’ve done before. Kind of a sweet deal, no?

Oh, and did we mention that Michelle Rodriguez is back?!

As we stated in our Fast and Furious 6 review, this is one awesome ride, and there is something about the streets of London and its snarled traffic that make some of the car chase scenes some of the best of the series (check out our Top 10 movie car chase scenes for more).

With the arrival of the DVD and Blu-Ray, fans will get even closer to the action than ever before, and the veil is lifted on the magic. One can see from numerous featurettes how the action was so amazingly achieved.

Exclusive ET Interview w/Dwayne Johnson & Nancy O’dell on set of ‘Fast Five’

ET’s Nancy O’Dell flew into beautiful Rio de Janiero, Brazil to hang out with the cast of ‘Fast Five,’ starting with the most sturdy man in show business, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Nancy and Dwayne launched their chat up in the air on a daring tram ride and Nancy just had to check Dwayne’s nerves before they got started.

“Are you afraid of heights?” Nancy asked.
Dwayne joins Vin Diesel as he reprises his role as Dominic in the new installment of the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise, ‘Fast Five.’ This time Dominic and his brood of outlaws are kicking up trouble in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Paul Walker, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and Tyrese Gibson also star in this explosive, pedal-to-the-medal action flick.

“I love the idea of doing something with Vin but not being his friend, because I thought that would’ve been the easy thing to do,” said Dwayne who plays a law officer in the movie. “I wanted to be his adversary, and for every great hero you need an equal anti-hero.”

Vin dished on the epic battle between the two action stars in the movie that required three weeks to choreograph.

“That fight sequence between us is one of the things I’m most proud of in this film,” said Vin. “We wanted to really take the concept of a fight scene to a whole other level.”

Universal Pictures has released four new TV spots for Fast Five, starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Matt Schulze, Tego Calderon, Don Omar, Elsa Pataky, Joaquim de Almeida and Dwayne Johnson. The Justin Lin directed movie looks like it’s going to be a ridiculously good time.

Here’s the synopsis for the film:

“Since Brian O’Conner and Mia Toretto broke Dom Toretto out of custody, they’ve blown across many borders to elude authorities. Now backed into a corner in Rio de Janeiro, they must pull one last job in order to gain their freedom. As they assemble their elite team of top racers, the unlikely allies know their only shot of getting out for good means confronting the corrupt businessman who wants them dead. But he’s not the only one on their tail. Hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs never misses his target. When he is assigned to track down Dom and Brian, he and his strike team launch an all-out assault to capture them.
