Universal Pictures has moved the released date up a week for Fast Furious 7. The movie was supposed to be released on April 10th, but will now hit theaters on April 3rd, 2015. James Wan is directing the next highly anticipated installment of the awesome fanchise, and is stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewsetr, Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Kurt Russell and more. I’m surprised they’ve managed to keep the plot off this film under wraps for so long. We still have no real idea what it will entail, but I know it’s going to be a lot of fun!

Paul Walker’s Brothers Helping Finish Fast & Furious 7

Paul Walker's brothers to help with Fast and Furious 7

Back in March a rumor circulated that the production of Fast & Furious 7would use body doubles and facial replacement to fill in gaps in the action due to the unfortunate death of star Paul Walker. This wasn’t really all that newsworthy given facial replacement is used a lot in Hollywood, but today Universal has officially confirmed the news while adding information that it’s Walker’s brothers, Caleb and Cody Walker, that have joined the production to help out.

Here’s the official statement from the studio’s Facebook page:

“The FAST & FURIOUS saga is about family. The characters are connected by the bond of family, and it is how all of us who have worked together for more than thirteen years feel about each other. It certainly defines how we feel about our fans.

Our family experienced an unthinkable shock in November. We had to take time to grieve Paul, the brother we love and lost, and to figure out if we should move on with our film.

We came together and all felt the only choice was to continue. We believe our fans want that, and we believe Paul would want that too. Paul had already shot his dramatic scenes and most of his action for FAST & FURIOUS 7, and it’s among the strongest work of his career.

We have resumed shooting and now welcome Paul’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, into our FAST family. Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother and fill in small gaps left in production. Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too.

We are just under a year away from the release of FAST & FURIOUS 7, and this film is the most important we’ve ever done together. It will allow the character of Brian O’Conner to live on and let us celebrate Paul in his most defining role.

We wanted to take a moment to speak to our fans directly and thank you for the love and support you always show us as we resume our work.”

Cody Walker, a stuntman, was first mentioned as possibly getting involved back in December 2013 and for comparison’s sake you can see a picture of the three brothers here.

Fast & Furious 7 Will Retire Instead of Kill Off Paul Walker’s Character

Universal has made the decision to retire, as opposed to killing off, Paul Walker‘s Brian O’Conner character in Fast & Furious 7 after the actor passed away in November of last year. Director James Wan and writer Chris Morgan have tweaked the screenplay so that the franchise can continue.

The studio plans to use the footage that Paul Walker already shot prior to his death in a car accident during Thanksgiving weekend. Since the accident, talks of how to move forward have continued, with a resolution finally decided upon.

The cast includes the usual cast plus Tony Jaa , Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Kurt Russell and Lucas Black.

Vin Diesel continues to roll out photos from the set of Fast & Furious 7.  After yesterday’s photofeaturing Jason Statham, Diesel has now provided an image with Dwayne Johnson, who plays the badass Hobbs.  I’m interested to see where Hobbes goes in the sequel considering his betrayal in Fast & Furious 6.  A friend of mine pointed out that Hobbs never would have done that, but he did and now the character will have to face those consequences.

Hit the jump to check out the image.  The film also stars Paul WalkerTony JaaTyrese Gibson,Kurt RussellMichelle RodriguezLudacrisNathalie EmmanuelDjimon HounsouLucas Black, and John Brotherton.  Fast & Furious 7 opens July 11, 2014. [Warning: Photo contains minor spoilers.]

New ‘Fast & Furious 7′ & ‘Hercules’ Images: Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s career isn’t showing any signs of slowing down, and two big upcoming entries on his always-crowded slate are Fast & Furious 7 and Brett Ratner’s Hercules movie, based on the Hercules: The Thracian Warsgraphic novel.

Today we have images of The Rock on the sets of both of the aforementioned projects looking hard as… well, a rock, really. Check out the photos below, which Johnson sent out via his own Twitter account:

New Fast & Furious 7 & Hercules Images: Dwayne Johnson is Huge Throughout History

Hercules: The Thracian Wars looks upon the latter life of Hercules (as opposed to the origin story featured in a competing film, Hercules: The Legend Begins). After his twelve famous labors and much personal loss, Hercules is a man living for nothing but death and combat, accompanied by a squad of equally hardened warriors. When his team is hired by the king of Thrace (John Hurt) to train the greatest army the world has seen, Hercules must confront what he has become – and the hero he could perhaps be once more.

If you haven’t already seen it, other set images reveal an epic-looking action film and a monstrously huge Johnson (snicker) just dwarfing Kellan Lutz’ slimmer, trimmer version of Hercules….

It is yet unclear just how much screen time Johnson will get in Fast & Furious 7but that clearly isn’t stopping him from helping to promote the hell out of film via social media, a la franchise star Vin Diesel. A lot of eyes are on this particular installment since there will be a changing of the directorial guard, with parts 3 – 6 director Justin Lin handing the wheel over to Conjuring director James Wan.

The story will tie all of the franchise installments (including red-headed stepchild Tokyo Drift) together with a purported “’70s-style revenge thriller” featuring Jason Statham as the vengeance-bent brother of Luke Evans’ big baddie from Fast & Furious 6. The cast is as swollen as ever, with all the old faces being joined by the likes of Statham, Tony Jaa, Djimon Hounsou and Kurt Russell.

It won’t end there, either: Fast & Furious 8 9 are also already slated to be made.
